Holostrom is a substance frequently used by Inversion. It could be considered a mix of Infection and Volumetric display technology (the correct sci-fi term, often inaccurately called holograms). It has many uses, from a low energy means of communication, to force-field projection (as it has innate resistance to outside Infection, since it is created with a small contained amount). It is not used very much by other factions, as they fear it, but it suits the Inversion just fine. It was created by leading scientist/archeoligist Anne Chient, who stablized it using a process learned from ancient technology.
